ARISCO FARMS
A Proud Family Tradition
Arisco Farms was started in 1922 on Jenny Hill Road. The farm was then moved to 1682 Marion Road. It was in 1968 that Alex continued the traditions of his grandparents and parents and began running the farm.
In 1983 Alex married his wife Beverly and together they moved Arisco Farms to its current location at 1583 Marion Road where they decided to raise their own family. They took a 70 acre parcel of land and a run down house and transformed it into a working farm with a beautiful farm house, traditional red barn that houses the farm stand and 3 acres of state-of-the-art greenhouses.
Although the location may have changed the quality and pride has survived the generations.
Alex recalls the days when, as a child, he would work on the farm before school and go with his dad to the market in Waterbury to sell their produce off the back of their big farm truck.
Today, Alex continues to pass along the values and work ethic of his parents and grandparents to his own two sons, Dan and Jim.
And it is not only farming that he shares with the boys.....it's his love and passion of restoring vintage John Deere Tractors which are proudly driven in any number of parades.
Today you can stop by the Farm Stand from May through October where you will find beautiful Hanging Baskets and Planters along with annuals, vegetables and herbs to plant in your own garden. Not to mention the freshest produce, grown right on the farm.
